Fr. Barron Comments on Pope Francis and "The Joy of the Gospel"


I'm reading this challenging document right now, but offer you Fr. Barron's take on it.  The Holy Father has a way of putting into words things many of us on the "inside" have been thinking.  One example is when he writes that we can use perfectly orthodox language in explaining the doctrines of the faith but still leave people scratching their heads (my very loose paraphrase).  It's not that the truth has changed but that we need to learn how people talk and think and put these truths into their language.  We're still not going to persuade everyone, but it won't be for the lack of making an honest effort to meet people on their own turf.  I'll keep on reading, and offer a reflection soon enough, but until then, here's Fr.
